Mile End Stadium, also known as the East London Stadium, is a multi-sports stadium situated in Mile End Park, east London, England. The stadium comprises an athletics stadium and a number of floodlit Astroturf football pitches and basketball courts.
Many of the facilities are being refurbished at the moment. The new sports complex with a 25m swimming pool has been refurbished.
The stadium is home to two senior football clubs, Bethnal Green United of the Essex Senior League and Sporting Bengal United of the Kent League.
It is famous for hosting a gig by Britpop Band Blur in June 1995, where 27,000 fans saw the band supported by The Boo Radleys, Sparks, John Shuttleworth, Dodgy and The Cardiacs.[1]
