Phon Charoen ( _th. พรเจริญ) is a district ("Amphoe") of Nong Khai Province, northeastern Thailand.

History

The minor district ("King Amphoe") Phon Charoen was established on November 16 1976 by splitting two "tambon" from Bueng Kan district. Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the west clockwise) So Phisai, Bueng Kan, Si Wilai and Seka of Nong Khai Province, and Kham Ta Kla and Ban Muang of Sakon Nakhon Province.

Administration

The district is subdivided into 7 subdistricts ("tambon"), which are further subdivided into 58 villages ("muban"). There are two townships ("thesaban tambon") - Phon Charoen covers parts of "tambon" Phon Charoen, and Don Ya Nang the whole "tambon" Don Ya Nang. There are further 6 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
