The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) works to promote alternative approaches to challenges faced by more than 40 million Americans of Hispanic and Portuguese descent living in the United States. Through education partnerships and events, CHLI provides opportunities for discussion and exploration of strategic solutions for community challenges that in turn, benefit the nation as a whole.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors and Founder is U.S. Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart. The Executive Director of CHLI is Octavio Hinojosa Mier.
Established in November 2003, CHLI is a registered 501(c)-3 non-profit organization and is commonly recognized as an alternative organization to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, which was established more than 30 years ago.
