Davis became Commonwealth Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania and served under
David L. Lawrence for one term, 1959-1963.Later Judgeship
Davis received a recess appointment to the
United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania fromLyndon B. Johnson on January 7, 1964, to a seat vacated by Thomas C. Egan, was confirmed later that year, and served until his death.External links
