- Autotopagnosia
Autotopagnosia is
agnosia that affects the sense of posture. It is characterized by an inability to localize and orient different parts of the body. Autotopagnosia's cause is usually alesion in the non-dominantparietal lobe or damage to the posterior thalamic radiations. It is also called body-image agnosia and somatotopagnosia. thalamus with the cortex via the internal capsule. Some authors have criticised the concept as a nonspecific concept - that is, they feel that this symptom is part of a wider symptom complex of anomia, or inability to name things in general - not just parts of the human body.
