Balch and Wolfe 1981Families In the taxonomy of microorganisms, the Methanomicrobiales are an order of the Methanomicrobia.[1] Methanomicrobiales are strictly carbon dioxide reducing methanogens, using hydrogen or formate as the reducing agent.[2]
