Qingdao No. 2 High School (Chinese: 青岛二中) is a
high school inQingdao ,Shandong ,China History
Qingdao No. 2 high school was initially built in 1925 as an all-girls elementary school and junior high school. In 1930, a senior high school was also added. With the elimination of the elementary division, the school was eventually converted to a
co-ed school.In 1953, it was selected as one of a few schools where only those who had demonstrated exceptional academic abilities in their elementary years could attend. The school has since then consistently ranked first in Qingdao for the state-administrated examinations, and became the dream school of many elementary-school students.
The system of selective entrance for junior high school was abandoned by the Chinese government in 1997.
Since 2000, the junior high school and the senior high school were split to become two independent schools. The junior high school became a private school, and was named "
Qingdao Yucai Middle School “; the senior high school became aBoarding school , and took the school's original name as Qingdao No. 2 High School.Twinning Session With Singapore Secondary School
