Lifetouch

Lifetouch, originally named National School Studios, is a photography company founded in 1936 by Bruce Reinecker and Eldon Rothgeb. Lifetouch has its corporate headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with production plants in Chesapeake, Virginia; Chico, California; Ohio; Muncie, Indiana; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Reno, Nevada; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 1978, 100 percent of the company's ownership was transferred to its employees, and it now promotes itself as the largest employee-owned company in the photography industry. Lifetouch specializes in school portraits and is also linked with JCPenney and Target to produce portraits. The newest addition to the Portrait Studio Division of the company is the Premier brand Flash! Digital Portraits.

Paul Harmel is the current CEO and Chairman of the Board. The other board members include John Anderson, James Campbell, Richard P. Erickson, Donald Goldfus, Richard Hassel, Ted Koenecke, P. Robert Larson, and Randolph Pladson.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune on May 17, 2008 the company said it will assume the cost of reproducing McKinney High School's (McKinney, Texas) yearbook where 580 student pictures were altered. The alterations included elongating necks and putting heads on different bodies.
