Thomas(
Arvind Swamy ),an NRI business man, returns to India from America to look after his father's(S.P.B) business...One day he happens to see Priya(Kajol) when he goes to a church hostel to see his aunt,a nun in that church. He falls in love with Priya but won't disclose the fact when he comes to know that Priya is interested in God and servicing the poor.So he asks Deva(Prabhu Deva),a barber who knows the tricks of seducing girls to fall in love.Deva befriends Priya through his musical troop(Nasser and his group) and does various kinds of activities to make Priya fall in love with Thomas.But at one point,Deva himself falls in love withPriya which she reciprocates.Thomas realises this at the end and sacrifices his love and plans tobecome a church priest; it is a unique climax among all movies from that time period.The way the director(Rajiv Menon)portrays the screenplay really makes the film fascinating.Awards
