The Volme is a river in
North Rhine-Westphalia ,Germany , left tributary of theRuhr . It is 49,8 km long, of which 21,3 km within the city limits ofHagen .It begins at 480 m above sea level at the southeastern part of the Ruhr area and flows through the municipalities of
Meinerzhagen andHagen and ends at 91 m above sea level emptying into the Ruhr. In the city of Hagen, the Volme is predominantly canalized, and is being renovated since2004 .Tributaries
