The site of the former RAF Misson, Nottinghamshire, is located 7 1/2 miles South East of
Doncaster , South Yorkshire and approximately 1 mile South East of the formerRAF Finningley airbase.RAF Misson is a former 850 Acre bombing range used by aircraft predominantly based at 25 and 18 OTU at nearby
RAF Finningley during the second world war.The base later became a
Bristol Bloodhound Surface to Air Missile battery location as part ofNo. 94 Squadron RAF and was installed to protect the V Bomber location at Finningley. For many years the location became known locally as the RAF Dump where the RAF dismantled old aircraft, vehicles and weaponry.
The station is now private land however the location of the Bloodhound missile stands are still visible in aerial photographs or the area and some of the original buildings still exist.
