- Robert John McGhee
Robert John McGhee (born 1941) is a Canadian
archaeologist and author specializing in the archaeology of the Arctic. He is currently Curator of Western Arctic Archaeology at theCanadian Museum of Civilization . He is also currently working at RBC Dexia Investor Services as a Senior Collateral Analyst.He was born in
Wiarton, Ontario in 1941. He studied at theUniversity of Toronto and theUniversity of Calgary , receiving aPh.D. in 1968. McGhee worked in theMiddle East as a student. He went on to study the remains ofMartin Frobisher 's expedition searching for theNorthwest Passage , a 2000-year old village in theSiberia n peninsula and anInuit village at Resolute,Nunavut . He was awarded theMassey Medal of theRoyal Canadian Geographical Society in 2000. McGhee is a former president of theCanadian Archaeological Association and a Fellow of theRoyal Society of Canada .Selected bibliography
