He was selected by Tampa Bay in the 1st round (4th overall) of the1990 NFL Draft .Considered to be one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history, McCants was incapabale of playing linebacker in the NFL and was converted to
defensive end for the 1991 season. He lost speed and was constantly confused. Tampa Bay also drafted him not knowing that he had sustained a serious knee injury. The Bucs cut him during their 1993 training camp.Legal troubles
