The Divorcee " (1930), "Thirteen Women " (1932), "Les Misérables" (1935), "Mary of Scotland" (1936), "Another Part of the Forest" (1948), and "Inherit the Wind " (1960). HerBroadway theatre credits included "The Cat and the Canary ", "Six Characters in Search of an Author ", "An Enemy of the People ", and "Long Day's Journey Into Night ", which earned her a nomination for theTony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play .Eldridge was married to actor
Fredric March , with whom she often appeared both in films and in stageplays, from 1927 until his death in 1975. They originated the roles of Mr. and Mrs. Antrobus in theThornton Wilder play "The Skin of Our Teeth " in 1942.Eldridge died from a heart attack in an emergency room in
