Gilbert Melville Grosvenor

Gilbert Melville Grosvenor (born 1931) was president and chief executive of the National Geographic Society until his retirement in 1996. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Society since.Grosvenor was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor, by President George W. Bush.
