Plot summary
"ttfn", the sequel to "ttyl" (Lauren Myracle) is the story written entirely in IMs of the "Winsome Threesome" as they go through 11th grade.
Angela has just found out that her family is moving to El Cerrito, California, and she seriously doesn't know how she'll survive without her best friends. Upon arriving in California, she "befriends" a stalker named Glendy who has no fashion sense, and cannot get it through her head that Angela might not like her. After many pairs of high waisted jeans have been worn, and dolphin themed sleepovers, Angela IMs her friends in desperation. After Angela "doesn't see" (ignores) Glendy at lunch, Glendy corners her and asks her why she didn't see her. Angela responds "I'm sorry for if i didn't see you waving me down like a madman." And Glendy tells Angela that whatever, she's just a bitch. Angela, in a frenzy of fury at no longer having ANY friends, escapes back home to live with her Aunt Sadie.
Maddie meets a boy named Chive at a party, who seems just as attracted to Maddie as Maddie is attracted to him. This pot-smoking hipster wants to be "friends with benefits," and also gets Maddie hooked on the drug as well. Maddie even claims to kind of enjoy it, saying it, "blurs the edges." It really has Zoe and Angela worrying about her. After making some bad moves with Clive, she gets caught buying pot and is disgraced.
Zoe finds herself falling for Doug, the sweet poet who has had a crush on Angela forever, a crush that Angela has come to count on. Aside from being dared by Maddie to do stupid dares to make herself more exciting (like running through the mall with marshmallows taped to her nipples), the best thing about her life is a boy named Doug, who really likes and respects her. However, Angela also likes Doug, and is none too pleased with him and Zoe being a couple.
