Jane Williams (theologian)

Jane Williams (formerly Jane Paul) is a Christian theologian and writer.

She was born in India, one of five sisters. She read Theology at Cambridge University. She then worked in theological publishing and education, publishing, among other things, "Bread, Wine and Women" (with Sue Dowell), "Perfect Freedom", "Lectionary Reflections", "Approaching Christmas" and, more recently, "Approaching Easter". She has also written a Sunday readings column for the "Church Times" and now works part-time for Redemptorist Publications, as a Visiting Lecturer at King's College London and as a Lecturer at the St Paul's Theological Centre. Since 1981 she has been married to Rowan Williams, who was appointed as 104th Archbishop of Canterbury in 2002. They have a son and a daughter.
