Primera División A in Tigres Los Mochis.Gustavo is a charismatic player that has given his services to many of the most famous teams in Mexico. Nicknamed "El Gusano" ("The Worm") for the way he celebrated his goals, Gustavo is known by many. He began his carrier with
UANL Tigres debuting againstSantos Laguna on November 16, 1991. He played with his hometown team until 1995 when his contract was bought by Mexico's most famous team,Chivas de Guadalajara . He gained most of his popularity playing for "El Rebaño" sagrado, he was part of the Championship winning team for the Verano 1997 Tournament. However "El Gusano"'s time withChivas de Guadalajara ended in with the Verano 1998 Tournament, he was traded toCF Atlante . He stayed atCF Atlante for a year, and was soon traded toClub América for just the Verano 1999 season. His next move was to the relegated team Celaya for part of the 1999-2000 season only to go back toCF Atlante for the latter half. The 2000-2001 season saw his return toChivas de Guadalajara until the 2002-2003 season when he was moved toJaguares de Chiapas . He soon moved to the relegated team Puebla FC in the 2003-2004 season.
