Richard Middleton (Lord Chancellor)

Richard of Middleton (died 1300), also Richard Middleton (surnames were often muddled at that time) was an English theologian and philosopher of the 13th century. Also Richardus de Mediavilla.

Life

He served as chancellor for several years from 1269 to 1272.Powicke "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 83] He published his "Commentary on the Sentences" in 1294. A Franciscan with some Thomist leanings.
