AS Saint-Étienne , in 1972, replacing new coachRobert Herbin at fullback position.He was associated withChristian Lopez and had the habit to help the team offensively.He won lots of titles withAS Saint-Étienne .He was very popular at this time, andBernard Sauvat wrote a song dedicated to him.He earned 15 caps for Argentina, but could not participate to1978 FIFA World Cup in his country due to family problems even thoughCésar Luis Menotti wanted him to.In 1979, he played forClub Atlético Vélez Sársfield , before coming back to France withAS Corbeil-Essonnes , as player-coach but it was a failure.He resumed his coaching career in South America, winning some titles, for instance in Argentina, but generally considered as disappointing.In 2004, with the accession ofAS Saint-Étienne inLigue 1 , he becomes an important man in the club, also workin forTalleres de Córdoba , a club owed byAS Saint-Étienne .Titles
