classical music , plus several ofNational Public Radio 's more popular programs, such asMorning Edition ,Weekend Edition ,All Things Considered ,A Prairie Home Companion andCar Talk . The former three are simulcast with WKAR-AM.The station signed on for the first time on
October 10 ,1948 as the Lansing area's first FM station. Like most FM stations of the time, it simulcast its AM sister for several years before breaking off to air its own programming. It is not known when it began airing separate programming, in part because WKAR-AM must sign off at sundown.The station's 86,000-watt signal can be heard as far east as Flint and the
