Simon Young (musician)

Simon Young is a musician in the United States who used to run [http://www.populuxeent.com Populuxe Entertainment] , a music promoting agency. He currently plays bass in Asian dance/rock band The Slants and is also the bassist/vocalist of [http://www.laststoptokyo.com Last Stop Tokyo] .

Biography

Simon Young started SBG Records when he was 15 years old. Under the SBG belt, several compilations and albums were released including bands such as Logos, Peach Fuzz, AoK, and Noise Ratchet. He has worked with various artists, promotional agencies, and record labels. He was also the frontman and guitarist for local pop punk heroes, Porcupine Roadkill and The Rockaway Teens. In 2000, SBG Records became Populuxe Entertainment when Young relocated the company to Murrieta, CA. It was during that time that he opened a vintage clothing store and Photography company with Perla Cabral (now known as Perla Rouge, pin-up model and wife of Dez Cadena). They enjoyed success for a number of years under each arm of the business.

In 2004, Simon moved to Portland, OR to join The Stivs. After several albums with the band and tours, Simon left to create The Slants. He currently resides in Portland, OR and is heavily involved with the music industry as well as anime convention circuit.
