The film is about a magician called Montag the Magnificent who performs a show where he selects female volunteers and appears to put swords, drills, and such through them. They walk away completely unharmed and everyone applauds, but then they show up somewhere else later, dead of the same injuries they sustained in the magic show.

Doom metal bandElectric Wizard uses a sample from the film in the song "Wizards Of Gore" from theirEP "Supercoven ".Death metal band Impetigo used a sample from the film as an intro for the song "Wizard Of Gore" from their album "Horror of the Zombies ".Thrash metal bandRigor Mortis has a song entitled "Wizard of Gore" off their album "Rigor Mortis". The soundtrack is sampled by the band Diamond Bullocks in their self-titled debut album.
