Pat Purcell

Patrick Douglas Purcell is an Australian politician, currently representing the electoral district of Bulimba for the Australian Labor Party in the Parliament of Queensland.

Prior to election to parliament he was the secretary of the Australian Building Construction Employees' and Builders Labourers' Federation (Queensland Branch).

Purcell was appointed Minister for Emergency Services on 28 July 2005, and was previously the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Public Works, Housing and Racing. [ [http://www.teambeattie.com/01_cms/details.asp?ID=142 Team Beattie: Pat Purcell] , Government of Queensland.]

Purcell announced he would resign from the Ministry on 4 July 2007, although he will continue as the Member for Bulimba.
