The Peiros is the longest river in
Achaia . It begins in the east of theErymanthos mountains, it passes through the municipalities ofKalavryta ,Tritaia and intoChafkali and Toskos and into the other two municipalities ofOleni andDymi and west ofAlissos and east ofKato Achaia . It passes into the old and the new sections of the GR-9/E55 (Patras - Pyrgos -Kyparissia ) with the OSE'sSPAP line in tens of metres to the north. It empties into theGulf of Patras near the forested coastline. A new dam is being proposed in the municipality ofTritaia nearChafkali and Toskos that will be known asPeiros Perapeiros Dam which will power electricity toPatras and thePatras Industrial Area .The river are situated near two ancient cities,
