The [http://www.marinaaquaticcenter.org/ Marina Aquatic Center] (MAC) is UCLA's premier water front recreation facility located in Marina del Rey, CA at the Northeastern end of the Entrance Channel.
The MAC, which is operated by [http://www.recreation.ucla.edu/recreate/index.aspx UCLA Recreation] , was opened in 1967 to house the collegiate Rowing and Sailing programs.
Today the MAC has expanded to meet the needs of the UCLA community and offers classes in small boat sailing, surfing, rowing, kayaking, and windsurfing.
UCLA SAILING
The [http://www.macsailing.org/Sailing/index.htmUCLA Sailing Program] teaches adult classes in dinghies. Students begin instruction in the Capri 14.2 and progress to other boats such as the Olympic Class Laser, Vanguard 15, and Hobie Catamaran 16.
The teaching program offers the [http://www.ussailing.org/training/programsoverview.asp US SAILING small boat certification] .
