Peter Scudamore

Peter Scudamore (born 1958) is a former jockey and trainer in National Hunt racing. He was an eight-time Champion Jockey (including one title shared with John Francome), riding 1,678 winners in his career.

Peter won the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in 1988 on Celtic Shot and in 1993 on Granville Again.

Scudamore benefited from being stable jockey for the record breaking trainer Martin Pipe.

Following retirement, Scudamore has pursued a career in media and has written several books.

Peter's son Tom Scudamore is now also a professional jockey. Peter is second cousin to current Chief Executive of the F.A. Premier League, Richard Scudamore.
