List of Maltese battleships

This is a list of Maltese battleships:
The Knights of St John were a small but competent and constantly-involved naval power from before 1500. In 1522 they were expelled from Rhodes by the Turks, ending up in Malta in 1530. Their independence (and fleet) lasted until 12 June 1798, when Napoleon I of France, on his way to conquer Egypt, captured the entire remaining Maltese navy. Some of these ships were later captured by the British when they recaptured Malta in 1800, and Malta remained under British control until 1964.
