Nevada and is located in Esmeralda County. It is located entirely within the state of Nevada, although it is only about half a mile (1 km) from the California border.Montgomery Peak convert|13445|ft|m is located just across the border in California, and Boundary Peak can be considered a sub-peak of Montgomery. Boundary Peak is convert|82|ft|m higher than the second highest Nevada peak, Wheeler Peak convert|13065|ft|m. An area surrounding the peak is protected as the Boundary Peak Wilderness Area.Climbing
