The Minister for the Public Service was a senior post in the Government of Ireland, it was created by the [http://193.178.1.79/1973_14.html Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1973] . In March 1987 the minister's functions were transferred to the Minister for Tourism & Transport after the department was amalgamated.
