Top Secret (video game)

"Top Secret" is the codename of a Scalable Multiplayer Online Racing Game directed by David Perry in partnership with publisher Acclaim Games. It is an online collaboration in video game development, drawing on both established professionals and novices. The project also features a competition, where the top contributor will take the role as director for a new game. In addition, a secondary competition was launched to attract potential indy developers to create the game based on the communities design document.

On February 23, 2007 a press release was made in the Acclaim forums announcing the project. Acclaim CEO Howard Marks described it as "'The Apprentice' meets 'American Idol' meets 'The Video Game Industry'."

The forum was opened on March 22, 2007 with over 23,500 people registered. On the same day Perry ran a competition, the winner of which was hired to a paid job as an intern.

Top Secrets Assistant Director is Rusel DeMaria - a 25 year industry veteran and writer of over 90 Strategy Guides, Computer Game design books, and game stories.

On the April 27, 2007 a website and wiki available to the public was opened.
