Jim Tucker, M.D., is the author of "Life Before Life: A Scientific Investigation of Children’s Memories of Previous Lives",which presents an overview of more than 40 years of research at the University of Virginia Division of PersonalityStudies. Dr. Tucker, a board-certified child psychiatrist, worked with Professor Ian Stevenson before taking over theresearch upon Stevenson’s retirement. In 2001, Tucker received a research bursary of € 50,000 from the Bial Foundation. He has served as a referee for the "International Journal of Parapsychology, Journal of Near-Death Studies, Journal of Parapsychology", and "Journal of Scientific Exploration". Dr. Tucker attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA degree in psychology and a Medical Degree. He is currently Assistant Professorof Psychiatric Medicine, and in addition to conducting research, he serves as medical director of the University of Virginia Child & Family Psychiatry Clinic.
