In 1928
Elmer J. Faucett and a group of Peruvian business men joined to found the first commercial airline in Peru and one of the first inLatin America . The company was authorized to operate onJune 4 ,1928 and commenced operations onSeptember 15 ,1928 . By 1960 it had introduced into service theDouglas DC-6 .The jet age started for Faucett in 1968 with the addition to the fleet of
Boeing 727 s. In 1971 the airline purchasedBAC One-Eleven jets.Douglas DC-8 -62 jets flew toMiami as the only international service that the airline operated.
