Schools, colleges and universities of Allahabad

Allahabad is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh,India. Historically it had been an important place of learning, bringing people from other places to the city to gain education. Allahabad University, built by the British and once called the Oxford of the East, has always been famous for its intellectual atmosphere and for providing the best education to its students though for the past two decades it had declined a lot while Universities and Colleges in other parts of the country gained ground. But recently Allahabad University was declared a Central University (like it had once been previously) and this has given a boost to bringing back the past glory of this prestigious University.
