WCRX (88.1 FM) is a radio station based in Chicago, Illinois. Located at 33 East Congress in Chicago Columbia College Chicago owns the station's FCC license and facilities. The station is completely run by Columbia College Chicago students and is operated by the school's radio department.

About WCRX

WCRX was bought from the University of Illinois-Chicago in the 1980s. WCRX 88.1FM is a non-commercial radio station owned and operated by Columbia College Chicago. WCRX provides music, news, sports, and community affairs programming. WCRX plays new music by non-mainstream artists, yet very well known bands in the underground genre. Student talent also host a variety of specialized programs that include: Talk, Metal, Jazz, R&B, Rap, Alternative, Blues and Meringue. WCRX also broadcasts select regular season UIC Flames men and women's basketball games. Student broadcast teams provides live play-by-play and color analysis for every game.

WCRX 88.1 FM also reports from Wrigley Field as well as from DePaul University during the college basketball season.

WCRX also broadcast the 1998 EMMY Awards from Los Angeles. The show was called Entertainment Primetime Weekly. The show was produced in a newsradio format. It featured interviews from Hollywood stars as well as related issues from entertainment from Chicago to the US.

WCRX airs programming that is responsive to the interests and needs of listeners. WCRX carries a variety of public service programming including President Bush's weekly radio address and the democratic response.

WCRX has received national recognition, winning a total of 37 awards in the area of news, educational programming, public service, features and promotion.fact|date=September 2008
