Peter Maniatis

Peter Maniatis

Peter Maniatis (b. February 1970 in Melbourne, Australia) is a TV host and boxing promoter, particularly known for his leading fashion sense and out-going personality. Maniatis was also an amateur boxing champion.

His father Willam is a Greek-born Australian and his mother Lillian was born in Perth.

Media career

Maniatis was lured to the "TRUTH newspaper" in 1995 and worked as sports journalist for over seven years. In that time he won the Victorian Multimedia award a record six years in a row, from 1999 to 2004.

Maniatis also co-hosted a boxing and sports show on radio SEN 1116AM in 2004.

In 2002, Maniatis created the C31 "KO Boxing Show" and has presented over 250 episodes and still going strong.

Maniatis has made a number of guest appearances on ESPN and National FOXTEL covering boxing and other sports.

Career as a Boxing Promoter

Maniatis started promoting boxing events in 1998 and had a contract with Sky Channel television to promote his boxing events nationally in Australia. He linked up with all the best trainers and managers in Australia, including Jeff Fenech, to put Australia's finest boxers on his promotion fight cards.

Maniatis has traveled all over the world with boxing and maintains a base in Los Angeles, California, USA where he trained with Hall of fame trainer and friend Freddy Roach at the Wild Card Gymnasium in West Hollywood.
