) is the regulatory body responsible for the
Manx Gaelic language.The _gv. "Coonceil" was set-up in
December 1985 as a sub-committee of theManx Heritage Foundation . It is responsible for the provision of authoritative Manx versions of the titles of government departments, street names, and the creation of new words and phrases.The _gv. "Coonceil" supports private, public and voluntary organisations who want to use the language more. Many organisations now make use of the language not only to add value to their services but also to help foster the unique language and culture.
