Ronald Eugene Emmerson (born September 16, 1964) is an American doctor of chiropractic who graduated from Chiropractic College [http://www.clevelandchiropractic.edu/ Cleveland Chiropractic College Los Angeles] on April 8th, 1989. Dr. Emmerson is the founder of The Chiropractic Network/Channel previously on DISH Network satellite and is the co-founder of Practiceware a health-based software company. Emmerson has practiced in California since 1989 and is past-president of the Merced Rotary Club a part of [http://www.rotary.org/aboutrotary/index.html Rotary International] . Biography

Childhood

He was born a son of a mortician, Laverle Emmerson. Emmerson began his venture into the realm of the surreal at age 13, following an autograph session with Heavy Weight Champion Mohammad Ali at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki he was invited by an entertainment reporter to be an extra in a Charlie's Angels TV show filming at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. This acting bug would later show itself while attending chiropractic school in Los Angeles. He attended a private high school "Monterey Bay Academy".

Early College Years

In 1983 Emmerson relocated to San Diego to continue college and embark on the beginning of his entrepreneurial career. Along with John Tolmosoff, Emmerson started a multi-location produce sales company starting with one location and eventually juggling as many as six locations while attending college full time. During the off season the two started a wood distribution company that serviced the entire San Diego County From Escondido, Oceanside, all the way down to the southbay including Lakeside and San Ysidro.

Chiropractic Education

In January 1985 He moved to Los Angeles to begin his chiropractic education. Emmerson attended Cleveland Chiropractic College Los Angeles. At this time he returned to part-time acting with extra roles on TV (Hammer, Top of the Pops, and a few low budget films). Emmerson also worked security at a few popular night clubs Wallstreet, Florentine Gardens and Studio One. His biggest blunder was not allowing Rob Lowe(St. Elmo's Fire,(film), The West Wing, and Austin Powers Goldmember)and Emilio Estevez(Breakfast Club and Mighty Ducks) into the club due to their entourage which included an actress Khrystyne Haje(Head of the Class) who was a minor at the time. A short time later a choice had to be made between late-night clubbing and early morning anatomy labs and the labs won out.

Early Chiropractic Career

Immediately following graduation in April, 1989, he started his career working for a chiropractor named Justino Diaz who had hiropractic practices on both sides of the United States border. This introduction to a multicultural practice would follow most of Emmerson's career. At this time Emmerson began his interest in triathlons and sports-related chiropractic. Helping to plan and participate in the Imperial Beach Championships and Triathlon, led to additional participation in the Carlsbad Triathlon, Mission Beach Triathlon, San Diego Triathlon, and eventually the Escape From Alcatraz however he only participated in the swim from Alcatraz to San Francisco and half the bike event due to health conditions. Emmerson also was the chiropractor to the San Diego Lifeguards at Imperial Beach and Navy Seals teams 1 and 5. Emmerson also was part of the staff in Mexico and the U.S. for treatment of outpatient cancer patients utilizing chiropractic as part of their treatment regime.

Chiropractic Professional Career

Relocating to Central California, Emmerson ventured into a larger role in the chiropractic profession by teaming up with Jim Parker, DC and Parker College of Chiropractic with the creation of the Chiropractic Channel. The Chiropractic Channel was on the Dish Network however with the passing of Dr. Parker the channel was dissolved. As part of a joint venture, Ron Emmerson joined with his brother, Dr. Lloyd Emmerson, and began Practiceware Inc. a health-based software company. The company was later sold to a larger corporation which evolved into a well-known chiropractic software suite. A non-chiropractic entrepreneurial venture was begun between Emmerson, Kevin Woo, and Bob Shamrock following a relationship while training at Ken Shamrock's Lions Den in Lodi, California. Following a trip to Japan for the first UFC in Japan and Frank Shamrock's first UFC title win there was a dissolution of the Lions Den. This training and partnership began with the formation of Shamrock 2000 a mixed martial arts team and management service for mixed martial artists. Shamrock 2000 was an independent company separate from Ken Shamrock's Lions Den and Frank Shamrock's mixed martial arts team and school however did grow out of a previous relationship with both. As part of local community participation, Emmerson was Chairperson for the Merced Chamber of Commerce Ambassador's Committee and was President of the Merced Rotary and voting delegate for Rotary International at the Barcelona,Spain and Brisbane, Australia International Conferences. As part of a venture into assisting the Chiropractic profession on a worldwide level Emmerson along with Dr. Rudometkin began Worldwide Chiropractic Information Services with the world's largest current database of chiropractic classifieds and chiropractic information service.
