canal lock system was built there as early as1607 , becoming the first of its kind in Sweden. The commons people had named Lilla Edet as a match for Stora Edet, situated north of Lilla Edet, and today known asTrollhättan . However, the official name for Lilla Edet was for a long time Bergaström.References
