" [O'Connell, T: Ms. Magazine USA, page 92. September/October 1998] , "Elle UK" and "Journal" [O'Connell, T: "Journal", page 46. IPC Magazines, March 2000] . Her short stories appear in "Girls' Night Out" and "Kid's Night In".

O'Connell established herself in 1996 in British chick lit with "Sex Lies & Litigation", published by Hodder Headline to wide praise. "The Guardian" described her heroine as "Bridget Jones on speed". Headline published four more chick lit books by O'Connell, the most popular of which was "What's A Girl to Do?". In 2000 she made her USA publishing début with "The Sex Was Great But...", published by RDI and followed by "Sex With The Ex".

O'Connell began writing young adult fiction in 2001 beginning with "Pulling Princes", the first in the series of the Calypso Chronicles, a series of teen books about the adventures of a group of girls in an English girls' boarding school. "Pulling Princes" was published by Bloomsbury USA and Piccadilly UK to good reviews, and was hailed in "The Bookseller" as "a serious contender for the teen chick lit throne".

O'Connell's latest publication is "True Love, The Sphinx and Other Unsolvable Riddles" which the School Library Journal referred to as "This flirty, fun romcom, told from four distinctive points of view, reads like an old-time comedy of errors. O’Connell describes Egypt with such vitality and richness that it shines as a separate character. This novel is a trip worth taking.." [School Library Journal, 2008, Reed Business Publications]

In 1990, pregnant with her third child, Tyne and her two husbands decided to set up a three parent household. "When I wrote an article for Vogue in 1997 about my ménage à trois lifestyle - sans the ménage so to speak - I had absolutely no idea I would spark a slew of international articles and talk show & radio discussions on post modern marriage and whether it was a good or bad idea to throw the husband out with the marriage."

"You could certainly start a stimulating debate on modern relationships based on Tyne O'Connell." Sunday Independent Ireland.
