- Personal Support Worker
A Personal Support Worker (PSW) is a
Canadian health worker that provides care to those that are not fully able to care for themselves. This includes seniors, individuals withphysical disabilities , and individuals withmental disabilities , amongst others.Duties and responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities and duties of a PSW include, but are not limited to:
* Observing and report's clinical and treatment information, behavioral changes
* Assisting with range of motion exercises, and other rehabilitative measures
* Taking and recordsblood pressure , temperature,pulse , respiration, bodyweight and height
* Assisting withambulating and mobilization of patient
* Collecting specimens for required medical tests
* Providing emotional and support services to care-receivers and families
* Assisting withpersonal hygiene
* Assisting with meal preparation, grocery shopping, dietary planning, food and fluid intake
* Quality care comes from quality training
