The Lakota Formation is a sequence of rocks from the Barremian (early Cretaceous) epoch from Western North America. Located in South Dakota, the name is derived from the Lakota Native American tribe.

Life forms recovered include the ornithopod dinosaurs "Iguanodon lakotaensis" and "Camptosaurus depressus", and the ankylosaur "Hoplitosaurus marshi".
