Pretoria Bypass

The Pretoria Bypass a collection of two bypasses that together form a partial ring road around the city of Pretoria, South Africa. At the moment, the two bypasses do not form a complete ring road.

The highest-order road in the city is the N1 Eastern Bypass, linking Pretoria to Johannesburg and Polokwane (formerly known as Pietersburg). It winds its way through the affluent eastern suburbs of the metropolitan area. The second bypass is the new N4 Northern Bypass, linking Pretoria to Rustenburg and Witbank. This road is tolled, and forms part of the Platinum Bakwena Toll Road, which will ultimately link Maputo in Mozambique to Gaborone in Botswana via Pretoria.
