History
Nadroga F.C. came into existence in 1938, with the formation of the Nadroga Soccer Association, under the Presidency of Dildar Masih.[1] Nadroga took part in the Inter-District Championship (IDC) for the first time in 1939, losing to the neighbouring team of Nadi by 2 goals to nil in the preliminary round.
Incidentally, Nadroga started having success when it changed names from Sigatoka to Nadorga. The man behind this change was Gurmeet Singh.
Nadroga remained a minor player in district competitions until the revival of football in Fiji following the political upheaval of 1987. Since then Nadroga has been placed prominently in all national competitions.
The players in the mid 80's were exceptional: Abraham Watkins, Radike Nawalu, Ramend Dutt, Kini Tubi, Vinod Kumar to name but a few all went on to achieve stardom with the national team.[citation needed]
