Geography

Demographics

As of 1991^[update] Bangladesh census, Motijheel has a population of 223676. Males constitute are 59.45% of the population, and females 40.55%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 143497. Motijheel has an average literacy rate of 70.9% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.^[1]
