- The Beekeepers
The Beekeepers were a guitar band from
Derby ,England , signed to theBeggars Banquet Records label. Their second single, "Do You Behave Like That at Home?", was the "Melody Maker " Single Of The Week in February 1997. Other releases included the mini-album "Third Party, Fear and Theft", which featured production fromGil Norton .The band members were Jamie East (Vocals), Gary Thatcher (Guitar), Mark Simpson (Bass), Steve Bailey (Drums) and Julian Berry (Guitar).
The band toured from 1996 until 1998 and were once supported by Travis. They also had TV appearances on
MTV , VHF,The Ozone ,The Chart Show and The Mag.Following the break-up of the band in 1998, some of the members went on to form Lucas J, who also subsequently split.

*"Catgut": Catgut was a promotional single, limited to about 500 copies and released through Jealous Records, catalogue number COUP 004. The single was a split-release with Gluebellies. "Catgut" is the same version as found on "Third Party, Fear and Theft".
