With help from the Alabama Legislature, the group borrowed $65 million to build the park. bankruptcy . It was purchased and operated bySouthland Entertainment Group .The theme park's name was changed to "Alabama Adventure" in 2006.
On May 15, 2008 Southland Entertainment sold the park to
Adrenaline Family Entertainment , a group comprised of former executives ofSix Flags .
