When Bobby's pet snake Joshua slithers down the toilet, Hank turns to Animal Control for help. Unfortunately, the Animal Control team takes advantage of the situation and creates a snake-in-the-city frenzy, putting Arlen in a state of panic, making themselves appear invaluable, easily gaining more fringe benefits, increased wages, and, worst of all, blaming Hank. With the control team hissing, it's up to Dale to eliminate Arlen's reptile problem and help Animal Control rediscover their love for their job.
Trivia
* The alternative title to this episode was "Snakes in a Suburb", a reference to the
2006 filmSnakes on a Plane .
* This episode was to be the season 11 premiere, but due to delays in the animation, it was pushed back two weeks.
* The events in this episode are at odds with the episode "Not in My Backhoe" (Season 4, episode 8) in which Hank clearly states that he has aseptic tank instead of a sewer connection. When Bill gets a new tank and they can't find where the old one is, Bill asks Hank where Hank's septic tank is. Hank answers: "Side lawn, eight feet out. Nine feet, seven inches from the pavement."
* The sign saying “SNAKE CONTROL ROOM—DO NOT DISTURB” is in Akbar, the font based onMatt Groening 's lettering.
* The episode alludes toOf Mice and Men when Hank lies about the killing of the snake and tells Bobby that they let it loose on a farm, in the same way that George lies and comforts Lennie in the story. Bobby asks Hank to "tell me about the farm," in the same manner that Lennie asked George.External links
