Overloon Coordinates: 51°34′N 5°57′E / 51.567°N 5.95°E Country Netherlands Province Noord-Brabant Municipality Boxmeer Population 3,600 Overloon, mun. Boxmeer, is a village in the Netherlands in the province of North Brabant. It is best known as the site of the National Museum of War and Resistance of the Netherlands, and for a World War II battle (Battle of Overloon) that occurred around the village in September and October 1944.
As a result most of the town was completely destroyed. In the decades after the war the town was rebuild and now is a home to approximately 3650 people.
In 2000 the town was given a new major tourist attraction the Zoo Parc Overloon.[1]
Sports
Overloon has an amateur football club named SSS'18. It also has a fierce rivalry with nearby Vierlingsbeek's club Volharding.
