HMS "Wildfire" is a
Royal Naval Reserve unit located in Northwood, North West London. Training over 100 reservists on Wednesday evenings, HMS "Wildfire" is located near the UK's National Defence Headquarters, JSU Northwood.Brief history
Formed on 6 May 1957, HMS "Wildfire" was designed to support the growing
NATO Eastern Atlantic Command at Northwood. It was the first Headquarters Unit in the RNR and was commissioned in 1959 as HMS "Northwood" being renamed HMS "Wildfire" in 2000.Housed initially within the UK's Defence Headquarters, HMS Warrior, now JSU Northwood, HMS "Northwood" occupied a series of huts until in 1988 the unit moved to Brackenhill House, an Edwardian mansion situated about 250 yards from the main gate of JSU Northwood.
